Walkin the Talk...on the Bosu, that is!

I had just finished a fantastic weekend of BioCored CorrectiveX Level II training.  There was much new information in my head and my body was definitely fatigued. So, what happened next?  I pulled (re-pulled) my left hamstring!  Ouch!  I wish I could say that I was doing some super technical feat when the injury occurred, but, alas, I tripped over a chair!  It was dark and that chair was not supposed to be there!
This is not the first time I had pulled that hamstring, in fact, the last time was only a couple of months ago.  I gave it the old “RICE” treatment and I let it rest for about 24 hours.
Ok, time to practice what I had been learning all weekend.  Hum…let’s see…I had gotten a client out of pain only hours before.  Surely I can do the same for myself!
My left leg’s range of motion before pain was quite limited as I could only lift my knee about 4 inches in front and 3 inches in back before my hamstring started hurting.  It hurt to walk and the movement in between standing and sitting wasn’t without pain.   Also, my alignment was off, reverting to a right shoulder hike…something I had previously overcome through practicing biocored.
I had learned that working “globally” can dramatically affect pain that is occurring locally.  I do not have a biocored unit at home, but I do have a bosu ball.  I got on the bosu, putting myself in a buoyant, unstable environment.  I did lots of bounces, on two feet and then on one foot.   That’s it.  I walked around for a few minutes to integrate what I had just done and then I checked my range of motion.  I could now lift my knee in front and in back to hip level without pain.  Even though I expected this to happen, I was amazed!
